Saturday 8th of July is going to be a big day for Londoners and a very long day for Guy Gerber. The Israeli DJ is bringing his iconic RUMORS party to the streets of East London hipsterville Shoreditch. This event which coincides with London Pride events across the UK capital is sure to put you in the party mood for the rest of the day and until inevitably leave Fabric at 8am the next day. Guy Gerber will be playing in London after performing in Ibiza the weekend before and will be joined by dOP (live), Bill Patrick, Acid Mondays and Bas Ibellini.
Being one of the few to collaborate with Puff Daddy, Gerber has definitely gained popularity in the electronic underground space. Apparently, Gerber is still influenced by the likes of Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine and this is showcased in his live performances. 2007 saw the release of his debut album Late Bloomers to Sven Vath’s Cocoon which was closely followed with My Invisible Romance in 2009. In 2012 and 2013, he transformed the concept of a mix CD with a Fabric album made up of original productions.
Resident Advisor has rated Guy Gerber as one of the best touring acts in dance music and a top 10 live performer three years in a row. He’s known for his extended sets like his 12-hour performance at Burning Man in 2014, so it’s safe to say he definitely has the stamina for his day in London next week. Gerber’s sets are unforgettable and summer in the UK is perfect for welcoming his free Ibiza beach party Rumors.
His label Supplement Facts hosted everyone from Chaim, to dOP, Guti and Kate Simko and when it reached its heights, that is when Guy Gerber decided to start his new imprint Rumors. At Fabric, he will be joined by party-starters Thugfucker and psychedelic house and techno superstars Acid Mondays in Room One, presenting what modern house music means to them.
