HAAi, Australian house and techno DJ, will be bringing her afro disco beats to an extra special Coconut Beats boat party on Saturday 26th August in London. After the release of killer new track ‘Be Good’, HAAi will be taking acid house fans down the Thames for a daytime boogie before heading to South London icon Phonox after sunset to party on. Board from Butlers Wharf at 1:30pm until 6pm and you’ll have 2 hours to grab some dinner before returning to Phonox for the night at 9pm.
HAAi’s musical style has been repeatedly called primal and derives sound from different cultures which was seen when she was resident at Phonox. The Coconut Beats party started out in Dalston and she then worked on a blog and Rinse FM radio show of the same name – now it’s been transformed into a record label, a true techno evolution that portrays her passion.
Coconut Beats produces mostly solo productions but collaborations with Jono Ma and techno producer Rupert Clerveaux have happened. ‘DaDaDa’ really presents HAAi’s label’s inspiration from the world with interesting synths and a unique take on the Indian percussion art of Konnakol, and the same can be said about ‘Be Good’ which brings in calm and soothing vocals with repetitive drums and bells.
2017 has been a big year for HAAi as she started her touring career, so head down to Butlers Wharf this Saturday to celebrate her success.
