In just a couple of days, Hard Day Of The Dead will be returning to Downtown Los Angeles, after a 3 year hiatus. On Saturday, November 3rd, Southern California music fans will be treated with this killer line-up! Big named artists such as Die Antwoord, Knife Party, and Cashmere Cat are among this year’s line-up. For one night, festival goers will be immersed into a fun-filled night of music, art, and thrills.
The news of the Day Of The Dead resurrection has been a long time coming and we’re excited that it’s finally happening this weekend. With two stages housed at the old stomping grounds of all the past Hard Events, this will definitely be a weekend you won’t want to miss!
Most notable on this years line-up is none other than the headliners, French electronic duo, JUSTICE. Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, who make up Justice, are known for blending a strong rock and indie influence with house and disco sounds into their style and music. Formed back in 2003, Justice rose to fame with their release of “We Are Your Friends,” a bedroom-recorded rework of Simian’s “Never Be Alone.” Shortly after, Justice began to work on remixes for larger mainstream acts such as Fatboy Slim, N*E*R*D, and Britney Spears. In 2007, the duo released their debut album, †, on Ed Banger Records, which featured their highly acclaimed hit single, “D.A.N.C.E”, which was also nominated for Best Dance Record and Best Electronic/Dance album at the 50th Grammy Awards. In 2009, the duo headlined the 2nd ever Hard Haunted Mansion at the Shrine in LA, and later released their sophomore album, Audio, Video, Disco in 2011, which ultimately landed them a headlining set at Coachella 2012. And finally in 2016, Justice released their third album, Woman, which debuted #1 on Billboard’s US Top Dance/Electronic Albums. With this release came a brand new tour, The Woman World Wide Tour, which includes more intricate stage lighting, a wide number of analog synthesizers, and plenty of Marshall speakers. The Woman World Wide Tour started back in 2017 and will come to an end this Saturday at Day Of The Dead. If you haven’t seen this epic tour set live yet, we would definitely recommend catching Justice’s last live show this weekend.
Here are just a few of the amazing mash-up’s you’ll get to hear this weekend:
Hard Day of the Dead will take place at the LA Historic Park on Saturday, November 3rd. GA and VIP tickets are still available for purchase here! We hope to see you all there!
