As Miami Music Week was getting underway, a surprise announcement from Hardwell and Uber added another one-of-a-kind party called “UberYACHT” to the ever-growing lineup of events during Miami Music Week. The idea behind UberYACHT was simple. Uber had partnered the world-renowned DJ, Hardwell, for a special four-hour excursion at sea, with sets by Sam Feldt, Vice, Digital Lab, and Hardwell himself. Fans were given the opportunity to board the UberYACHT by entering a promo code that would give them access to the UberYACHT option for an hour-long window from 12 pm – 1 pm EST. From there, an Uber driver would take you to a secret location that gave you access to the yacht.
Demand to board the UberYACHT was massive, as expected, and it was rumored that over 100,000 people requested an UberYACHT during the time frame. There’s no question that this was one of the most unique parties to hit Miami this year, and this successful partnership only shows the innovative relationships that can be reached between EDM acts and tech companies.
