Late last year, Helena Legend, stepped outside her comfort zone and premiered a vastly different sound with a three track urban style EP, “No Explanations Part 1” on Sony Music/Ultra Records. Part 1 was just the beginning of Helena’s story; using sultry vocals, powerful lyrics, and futuristic melodies, we were able to get a sense of her new found empowerment and as Helena’s “Illusion” track narrated, “living life by your own rules”.
The Aussie triple threat is now back with the continuation of her story “No Explanations Part 2”. The EP kicks off with the fiery “Ghost Ya,” featuring the vocals of Sophie Hintz. “Ghost Ya” is a bold single with catchy lyrics, geared towards the clingy man in her life. The EP follows with “One Night” featuring Sade Serena; a sexy tune with reggaeton elements, giving it that Major Lazer feel, and serving as the soundtrack for any girls night out. Finally, the EP closes with our favorite single, “U Don’t Love Me”, utilizing Middle Eastern sounds, a heavy trap beat, and sampling old-school vocals “No No No” from recording artist, Dawn Penn.
