With lots of talent and a great story to tell, HerShe is bass music’s latest name to watch, with her brand new EP Breath Control bound to allow her to cement her name in the scene even more. A beatboxer, rapper, producer and much more, HerShe has managed to craft a unique production style that incorporates beatboxing, something which she also takes on stage with her one-of-a-kind performances.
Spanning 4 tracks in length, Breath Control showcases HerShe’s incredible range, while proving that no one else in the scene is doing what she is doing. Filled with infectious raps and heavy drops, “Rumors” nicely introduces EP, before “Hittem with the Jersey” puts HerShe’s full creative spectrum on display. “Neurotic” on the other hand is one of the most stunning combinations of beatboxing and production we’ve heard from HerShe, while previously-released single “The MASK” is a sinister and impressive dubstep cut that hits really hard.
“In ‘rumors’ about 50% of the sounds you hear are my beatboxing samples, that I have either kept more raw or resampled. I’ve been playing around with sound design a lot to truly make something unique. With ‘hittem with the jersey’ obviously everything you hear is 100% Beatbox in that track. With ‘neurotic’ the same thing goes about 75% of the drop are my beatbox samples resampled or kept more raw.”
