Today there are a multitude of different genres: House, Dubstep, Trap, Future Bass, Future House, Electro etc. and in any genre you can point out that one element that makes it what it is; Future House has those bouncy bass synths combined with 4 on the floor rhythm signature, Future Bass features detuned saws and in most cases hip-hop oriented beats, and Dubstep with the growl basses and hard hitting snares usually between 70-75 bpm. In the beginning of dance music the one genre that had a meteoric rise compared to rest of them was House Music. House Music was essential to creation of many of the genres we see today.
