Electric Adventure started off in 2012 and since then the festival has evolved and changed to become a premiere beach festival throughout New Jersey. With a reputation for diverse lineups and hospitality towards fan, it’s no wonder Electric Adventure has been so successful. However, the festival was not always of such large magnitude. Electric Adventure’s inaugural lineup came out in 2012 and was slated for Columbus Weekend at Six Flags in Jackson, NJ. The initial lineup would boast artists like DJ BL3nd, Arty, Super Mash Bros, and Alesso. Back in 2012, Alesso was mainly under the wing of Sebastian Ingrosso and had just come off some power house releases like Pressure and Calling. Arty was also a rising figure in the trance community and DJ Bl3nd was known for his mashups. However, due to prior commitments Alesso would have to cancel his headlining performance.
Despite Alesso’s cancelation, Electric Adventure would continue with three new artists replacing Alesso. Headliners Dada Life and Excision took his place and added more diversity into the lineup. Excision would bring some much needed bass and Dada Life would bring their well known big room progressive sound to Six Flags. Rising progressive house star Danny Avila would also be added to the lineup. Tickets for Electric Adventure granted access to the festival and to all the rides. Some new artwork would also be added in addition to the lineup announcements. With the final lineup set, Electric Adventure’s inaugural year started with a bang Columbus Weekend!
With one successful year under their belt, Electric Adventure and their team prepared for 2013. They offered an even more impressive lineup and it was a clear sign that Electric Adventure was on the rise. Electric Adventure returned to Six Flags in Jackson, NJ for a two day event on August 3rd and 4th. Headliners were Destroid on day one and Zeds Dead on day two. Destroid performed a live set and had guest appearances from Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka. In addition to its Jackson performance, Electric Adventure was also set to perform in Massachusetts with performances from Fedde Le Grand, Excision, Dillon Francis, Madeon, Bro Safari, Audien Dannic, and Zeds Dead. However, due to the cancellation of Electric Zoo that year, Electric Adventure would end up canceling its Massachusetts location.
For the first time in 2014, Electric Adventure would not have its performance at Six Flags. The festival moved to Seaside Heights in New Jersey for another two day event on August 2nd & 3rd. Yet again, Electric Adventure would become more diverse in its lineup selection. With artists like Flux Pavilion, Headhunterz, DJ Snake, Dzeko & Torres, GTA, Noisecontrollers, and Blasterjaxx; Electric Adventure covered all the genres in 2014. The number of attendees as well as the number of artists would increase rapidly in 2014. Electric Adventure doubled its artist number in 2014 displaying 30 impressive artists compared to 2013’s fifteen artist number. Although no rides were included, Electric Adventure saw its inaugural year as beach festival in 2014.
The next year would undoubtedly be the year that Electric Adventure solidified itself as one of the most premiere beach festivals out there. The festival moved to Atlantic City for 2015 and boasted one of the most impressive lineups of 2015. It came to Atlantic City on August 1st & 2nd and had headlining performances from Dillon Francis and Pretty Lights. In addition, Kygo would play an intimate set on the beach at 3:00 PM for a crowd of about 200 fans. This was very likely the highlight of the weekend especially now with the enormous success of Kygo. It had performances from over 55 artists and the festival had three different stages across a massive beach. As always, Electric Adventure displayed a diverse lineup and had performances from artists like Lady Faith, Cosmic Gate, Party Favor, Griz, A-Trak, and Big Gigantic.
After a more than successful 2015, Electric Adventure announced later in 2016 that it had plans to return to Atlantic City come late September. The festival has reached its monumental fifth anniversary and we’re more than happy to see it back! Under new management, the festival received an array of changes including faster concessions, new security team, enhanced VIP areas, and improved site designs. With the announcement of these updates also came Electric Adventure’s 2016 lineup. The festival will be returning to Atlantic City on September 24th & 25th and we will see headliners DVBBS and Marshmello.
Additional artists include JOYRYDE, Lady Faith, Must Die, Brillz, and Excision. Phase two is yet to be released, be sure to keep your eyes open for it! Also, Electric Adventure will take place at the famous Steel Pier, meaning fans will once again have the ability to use all the rides and attractions with the purchase of your ticket. This is welcomed news as it seems Electric Adventure is going back towards its early roots of Six Flags.
Tickets for Electric Adventure are still available and can be purchased here. Single day passes are going for about $75 while weekend passes are going for around $100. Based on the prices, it definitely makes sense to go for the weekend pass. Electric Adventure has also stated that there will be affordable lodging for traveling attendees. If you’re as pumped as we are for Electric Adventure’s fifth anniversary, be sure to purchase a ticket and hopefully we’ll see you on the beach in less than a month!
