Asian-American DJ, producer, and singer Elephante (Tim Wu) is an innovative artist who cultivates melodic dance music painted by strokes of pop, blues, rock, and other genres. After graduating from Harvard, Tim entered corporate America at a top consultant firm and realized the rat race wasn’t for him. He addressed this unhappiness — “the elephant in the room” — by pursuing his true passion in music. Throughout his decorated career, Elephante has garnered millions of streams across his two EPs ‘I Am The Elephante’ and ‘Glass Mansion’ (which shot to #1 on iTunes’ U.S. Dance chart), as well as headlining two sold-out national tours, playing residencies at Hard Rock and Wynn Las Vegas, and appearing at major music festivals including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, and Electric Zoo.
Following his previous single ‘High Water,’ whose music video was a chilling cinematic production illustrating Elephante’s emotional, physical, and mental struggle with opioid addiction, is the equally powerful ‘Holy Ghosts,’ which brings to mind an eerily vivid image of a Los Angeles ghost town during the peak of the pandemic. The track features moody guitar riffs, haunting vocals, and a groovy but melancholy bassline that leaves the listener yearning for the normalcy of human connection; igniting introspective quandaries of how the world will “never be the same.” We appreciate the emotional depth of ‘Holy Ghosts’ and will be keeping an eye out for Elephante’s full-length album — to be released later this year! Listen to the track HERE.
“The quarantine has distilled what excites me about music. It’s really raised the bar for what’s important in a song outside a live setting,” says Elephante, who continues to embrace a mission to write songs “that mean something to people.”
