American DJ and Producer i_o has released the final piece of his 444 sonic journey, AM 444, out now on mau5trap.
i_o’s project began in late 2019, comprised of three albums with four tracks each— ACID 444, NRG 444, and now AM 444. With the final album having been released this week, the completion of this project has landed it a #1 spot on iTunes Electronic Album chart.
Canadian alt-pop artist Lights joins i_o on AM 444, whose gorgeous vocals beautifully breathe life into the production, making the work in its entirety a melodic, euphoric listen from beginning to end. If there was ever an album to get mesmerized by vocals and truly lost in its sound, AM 444 is it.
Named for an obscure New York City underground venue, the 444 series tells the story of the different areas of dance music that defines Garrett Lockhart, aka i_o, as an artist. Part one, ACID 444, reflects i_o’s warehouse roots with part two, NRG 444, highlighting a more aggressive, uptempo collection of tracks suited to be played during a peak hour main room techno set. The final part, AM 444, is made up of tracks produced for the period of day that is called nautical twilight, the time just before dawn, including “Annihilation,” “Run,” “Drift Away,” and “Epilogue” to close the curtain.
The first single and fan favorite “Annihilation” has already amassed over 300,000 plays since its mid-May release, with playlist support from SIRIUS XM’s Diplo’s Revolution adding the song to its rotation.
