There are too many days in which we wake up feeling disconnected from the people and the world around us. The struggles of everyday life cloud our minds so furiously that often times we fail to notice all the many faces we pass as we hurry through this thing called “life”. Faces that might be frowning, eyes that might be tearing, brows that might be just as furrowed with worry as our own but not once do we stop to ask why or think that maybe we could help.
Sometimes it can be as simple as a sprightly stranger handing you a lollipop that brings an unexpected smile or laugh. At festivals, we are already out of our element so it can be easier to approach a stranger who may need a little cheering up but in our day-to-day lives somehow a simple act of kindness becomes much more intimidating.
Today, ID&T invites us to take the simple ideas of peace, love, unity and respect that we hold so dearly at festivals and apply them in our daily lives to make the world a better place. They will be compiling a documentary of 200 good deeds and random acts of kindness spread by the people of Tomorrow. If you want to be part of this nobel cause, just film a video of yourself making people smile any way you can. Then tell the world a little bit about yourself in your video and submit it through the 200 People of Tomorrow website.
Whether you believe it to be small or large, a ripple in the pond of life around us begins with just a drop and that drop begins with us. This world will only be as bright as we make it so when it seems we’ve all but forgotten one another, it’s time that we remind each other we are still neighbors on this planet and we are loved.

Those were a few of my favorite video submissions available on the website right now. Hopefully they inspire you to go out and make one of your own.
