Following his major successes of Floating (2014) and Departure (2016), IHF has graced us with another stellar EP four years later, resulting in an atmospheric and euphonious Oasis. Although containing his familiar melodic and aesthetic soundscapes, Oasis weaves electronic and indie to one another, blurring the line between the genres to create an asylum free from traditional labels and boxes.
Through all seven tracks, this whole EP is an absolute vibe from start to finish. Personally, my favorite track off of the EP is “Gold.” It starts gently and features IHF’s dreamy vocals, invoking a sense of relaxation. The vocal splices are a bit reminiscent of ODESZA as the track gradually works picks up the beat gets more powerful.
“I also really wanted to sing and find my voice. That has been a new source of inspiration and will continue to be in the future.” -IHF
