ill.Gates has been a favorite of RaverRafting for some time now, and for good reason. Never being one to shy away from experimenting with all sorts of sounds, you never quite know what to expect when you click play on one of his tunes.
With the official release date now upon us, “More Tea” is a breath of fresh air from the ill.Gates camp. In typical fashion, the track is filled front to back with samples. Tea farmers are heard performing traditional songs, the legendary Bruce Lee says his part at the 3:20 mark, and even Alan Watts makes his present felt throughout.
Even more interesting than the track itself could be the story behind it. Dylan and his friend Nathan set out to travel Taiwan and China, taking in the culture (and tea) as they went. While out there, Nathan let him know of his idea for an “Urban Teahouse Remix Project” which would take tea culture of the east and bring it along to the west. Take a peek below at the video where the two go in depth on their travels and the meaning behind “More Tea”.
Today with the help of ill.Gates and Nathan, we’re excited to share our love of the drink by offering up a great prize pack for one lucky winner. A tea pack including a brewing vessel, cups, tea and more will give you everything you need to get started. The winner will also get a $100 store credit to ill.Gates’ ProducerDJ.com where you can buy controllers, sound packs and much more. As always, if you enjoy the song don’t forget to show your support and purchase the track at the links below. Good luck to all entrants!
