Montreal-based audiovisual duo Planet Zyha is making serrious moves in the scene and some of their best sounds end up blending Latin-inspired rhythms with deep bass elements – concocting an infectious atmosphere when played out that’s simply hard to beat. The married couple behind the project, Mirek Hamet and Ariane Lilith, have developed a rich creative concept centered around their fictional home world, Zyha—a rogue planet governed by three moons.
“We wrote Salsa while traveling through Central America, completely immersed in Latin music and culture.” “The track is a celebration of that experience and our long-time love for salsa.” Their connection to salsa is longstanding, beginning years before their electronic music careers.
Their sound draws from a variety of influences and detailed production techniques. “The main bass is actually a simple sine wave layered with noise and multiple saturation stacks. The rest is a mix of samples and orchestration, each passing through intricate glitch effects.” This approach results in a textured and dynamic sound.
The mythology of Zyha plays a central role in their work. “Zyha is a rogue planet millions of lightyears away, with three moons that govern the culture and rhythms of its tribes.” “When two or three moons align in an eclipse, the Zyhans celebrate with epic festivals.” Their live performances bring this vision to life with LED-synchronized costumes and immersive audiovisual elements.
The duo also present themselves as musical ambassadors bridging their fictional world and Earth. “Zyhans have discovered sub-bass frequencies from Earth and chose us as ambassadors to establish contact.”
Their track At Night, inspired by Ariane’s fire troupe The Furiads, gained wider recognition after being featured on Quebec’s Got Talent. “Ariane is the vocalist on the song, and when The Furiads performed it on the show, we saw a huge spike on Shazam.”

Planet Zyha is preparing for upcoming festival appearances. “Future Forest is our favorite festival—we’re honored to play the main stage at 1 AM on Saturday night.” “Lumifest’s blend of digital art and music is exceptional, and we’re looking forward to the new Festival du Grand Amour.”
Their festival essentials are practical and focused on comfort. “Earplugs, popcorn, pre-packed outfits, onesies for sunrise dancing, and a reusable water bottle.” “An LED mirror—a total game-changer.”
Their partnership began thirteen years ago. “We kissed an hour after meeting, and the rest is history.” Mirek’s proposal took place “in the empty courtyard of Prague’s castle under a full moon on Christmas night.”
Planet Zyha continues to combine music, storytelling, and visual art, creating a distinctive experience that invites audiences to engage with rhythm, culture, and imagination.
