Skrillex and Diplo have made waves over the last few months with their new project, Jack U. This effort is a way for both artists to blend their roots and interests in an effort to push electronic dance music forward. They’ve made one thing clear, Jack U abides by no rules and their productions are their sincerest forms of vulnerable creativity with no planned path.
As a fan of music it’s easy to appreciate what both acts are doing. Though, many people don’t understand their visions. Maybe they haven’t made it clear yet, but we’ve understood this moniker to be an outlet for expression. Something you can look to when you don’t want to expect a certain sound, but rather explore new grounds and styles. They’ve created a brand that promotes free living, partying and enjoying life for what it is. So far their music has hit that nail on the head on all fronts.
With that, today the group released the music video for their first single, “Take Ü There,” and it encompasses all of the ideas that I’ve previously mentioned. I don’t know about you, but New Years Eve at Madison Square Garden is looking better and better each day. Skrillex and Diplo are behind every aspect of the show and in an interview with Power 106 FM they leaked that there will be a slew of special guests and surprises.
