Currently residing in the pulsing heart of Los Angeles, JACKNIFE has just released his EP “THE BLADE ROOM” on Bladed Black Records – a collection that mirrors the duality of his vintage sounds and forward-looking visions.
The EP initiates with “MOVE” – a sonic voyage that encapsulates JACKNIFE’s understanding of how to make sound work in his favor. Its bassline is a monologue, the synths a chorus; a call and response resonating through time and space. Yet, with “GOODBYE,” there’s a modulation, a tonal shift towards a more introspective, melancholic cadence that feels almost operatic in its gravitas.
“HIVE MIND” could be one of the strongest releases on the EP, showcasing exquisite sound design and more. From his collaboration “REVOLT” to endorsements from the likes of Skrillex, JACKNIFE’s musical journey is a prime example of how to craft bass music right. With “THE BLADE ROOM,” he offers excellence from start to finish. Additionally, he will commence phase 2 of his US tour on September 15th.
