While working as a prison guard in Guantanamo Bay, electronic artist Guantanamo Bae experienced a spectrum of emotions. The secluded conditions resulted in the inspiration for his single, “Happy Sadness.” The creative piece offered an uplifting dance track that allowed listeners to enjoy the positive energy emitted. With the single being released on April 3, the song was timely in society’s climate of isolated due to the global pandemic. Two months following the original’s release, Jämes Jäger is here with a spin off the dance track.
Jämes Jäger’s remix adds to the original intention of “Happy Sadness” by creating an epic dance track, allowing the listener to disappear into the euphoric flow of the melody effortlessly. Various instrumental drops throughout the track add the perfect amount of space for anticipation to build. A powerful bass-line, coupled with panned instrumentation, an energetic beat and an addictive vocal line amalgamate to form a sound that is unique to Jämes Jäger and true to the original single.
