For all intents and purposes LCD Soundystem will forever be legends in dance music even if they quit after reaching a modicum of commercial success. Now James Murphy, DFA Records Boss and sometimes DJ has created an unconventional summer mixtape filled with music that you’d struggle to find on Pitchfork.
The mix is available only on Rdio, the music subscription service that’s looking to find its place with the rest of the music apps of the world. I just signed up for an account today and found the process too similar to what Twitter does. Music exploration isn’t the same as social networking.
