Jason Ross has quickly made a name for himself in the hearts and minds of not only trance fans but those that are apart of the Seven Lions tribe and Anjunabeats fam. His most recent appearances at festivals like Dreamstate SoCal, the Ophelia showcase at Electric Zoo New York as well as hit after hit of collaborations, are proof that Ross is living out his legacy. He has been hinting at a big project, with stunner tracks like, “Known You Before”, with Seven Lions, “When the Night Falls”, featuring Fiora and his Dabin and Dylan Matthew collab, “One That Got Away”, blessing our ears throughout the last few months. Coming full circle to when he dropped his debut EP, Rooms, at the beginning of 2019, Ross is back with his title track of his yet-to-come first full length album, “1,000 Faces”. Tapping one of his favorite vocalist collaborators, Dia Frampton, Ross continues to deliver impassioned music that explores the depths of his musical range. Ross had this to say about their partnership,
“Dia has been one of my favorite people in this industry since the first time we talked, right after I remixed her track with Illenium,” described Jason. “The moment I heard this vocal, I was blown away and knew we had a big one on our hands.”
The title track immediately sucks us into Ross’ world within the first second. Bright synths stab through the soundscape while still having that signature euphoric ebb and flow of the melody that wraps it all together. With Frampton’s serene vocals, we find ourselves chasing the energy and looking through all the faces that Ross’ discography has begun to reflect. Whether it be flowing future bass like, “1,000 Faces”, thundering psy trance of, “Sirens”, or dubby, “Don’t Give Up on Me”, Ross’ multifaceted collection of sounds has brought us into his fan base for good.
“1,000 Faces” is now available on Spotify and SoundCloud. His full length LP under the same title will be released January 24th.
