Jason Ross has been quickly infiltrating everyone’s attention once again this year with his remix of Illenium’s “Needed You” and traveling with Seven Lions on their epic “The Journey 2” tour. With an incredible finish, Jason is already working up to another adventure for 2019, with an upcoming EP and North American tour. Ross first snatched up attention when he dropped into the scene with his progressive trance hit, “Burma”. It wasn’t long until Above & Beyond wanted to collaborate and he contributed to three tracks for their famous Madison Square Garden performance in 2014. Ross shot up from there and quickly proved his caliber with his incredible sound design on his euphoric instrumentals with track like “Atlas”, “Cairo”, and “Coaster”. Artists like Armin Van Buuren, Kaskade, and David Guetta instantly threw out their support and from there Ross had a home in the world of trance.
Fast forward to the past couple of years, Jason has been creating unforgettable moments at the biggest festivals like EDCLV, Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo and some of Above & Beyond’s Group Therapies. He landed himself back into the producing spotlight with incredible collab’s such as his Anjunabeats chart topper with Seven Lions, “Higher Love”, as well as his Anjunabeats Worldwide 06 Mix. We’ve seen Ross delve into heavy, melodic bass like his single, “Into You”, and even some fast psy trance releases on Seven Lions’ Ophelia label, showing off his spectrum of musicality that is sure to continue to grow into his next projects.
Now, hot off the heels of an unbelievably successful tour with Seven Lions, Mitis, and Au5 he is ready to venture on his own and make 2019 his year. Just recently, Ross dropped “East of Eden”, his lead single for his upcoming EP Rooms. The layout of the EP is based off of Ross’ travel and experiences through life, ranging from his roots back home in Minneapolis to the iconic Gorge Ampitheater. Jason had this to say about his latest project,
“The Rooms concept is a representation of the evolution of me as a person and artist. Each room represents a pinnacle growing point in my life that has brought me to where I am today.”
“East of Eden” heralds what we can expect to see on Rooms, with intricate layering of many elements that build into a beautifully produced track. The lead single encompasses his journey from a 10 day tour in China, with the whirlpool of sounds, neon lights, and hyperactive energy fueling the synth work and implacable rhythm. Fans won’t have to wait long to explore all of Rooms live, with his 14-stop and counting North American tour starting January 25th. Check out the dates below and purchase tickets here.
