Jason Ross has found a winning combination when it comes to partnering with vocalist Heather Sommer. Their first collaboration, “One Look”, was a tender reminiscence of that moment when we find someone that makes us feel at home. Ross has found immense success throughout the past year, with his debut album on Ophelia, 1,000 Faces, amassing massive amounts of streams and landing in top placements for famous EDM lists such as New Music Friday, Friday Cratediggers, and landing in spots 1-5 on iTunes Dance charts throughout multiple countries. He captivated many souls and hearts on his “1,000 Faces” tour with support from Sunny Lax and Matt Fax as well as rule the main stage at Dreamstate SoCal 2019.
Ross and Sommer are back with their second Ophelia records release with “Open Water”, an open letter to everyone that has gone through the struggle of letting go of that control and opening ourselves to not only new experiences, but to those that have opened their hearts to us. Her voice is seamless within Ross’ production of delicate layering of echoing guitar strums and percussive pops. We then slowly find ourselves riding a supersaw wave buildup and then we allow ourselves to dive into “open water” and face the fear holding us back.
Jason Ross and Heather Sommer speak to our hearts once again and make us feel a little less alone when facing these internal struggles. “Open Water” is available to stream now on Spotify and Apple Music. Keep up through Ross’ socials below to catch him on his next Twitch stream and see what other heart strings he can pull.
