Mad Decent’s free label, Jeffree’s, always has its finger on the pulse of EDM and continually pushes fresh sounds and artists out to a huge audience. Recently, there have been a handful of House tracks coming from this label, which is quite different from what most of their music used to consist of, but as the big room craze has swept EDM lovers away, they’ve adapted to the times and are plugging some of the most interesting and unique House out there right now.
Funkin Matt’s “MAD” is no different. Combining vocals that sound straight out of the 90s with a bouncy electro lead line, he kicks the song of perfectly. After incorporating a delicate, progressive build, he surprises us with a guttural, talky bassline and the song takes off in a big way. While keeping it relatively simple, Funkin Matt has created a drop that is infectious and will have people jumping along for the rest of the summer.
