If you’re at all like us, our beloved trap genre can grow pretty lame and repetitive on your ears real easily. Today’s market is saturated with artists who seem more intent on sounding like each other than standing out from the crowd. That’s why we love to gravitate towards experimental trap artists who push the envelope like Lindsay Lowend, or even Mr. Carmack. Recently signed to Lowend’s record label Fear of Sound, JNTHN STEIN might just be another name to be on the lookout for.
Given the honors of producing a two-part release as one of the first pieces of work on the label, JNTHN STEIN has that insanely unique Lowend feel through and through. Click play on “Unbound” and a lingering intro will lead you into some mean face-smacking horns, with little odds ‘n ends of noise all working seamlessly within the track.
Our favorite of the two track offering however, “Cata”, is a kind of haunting, eerie brand of trap which we’ve yet to hear outside of only a small handful of artists. We dig each of these two tracks, and certainly can’t wait to see where this guy starts popping up next. Stay on the lookout for all things FoS related, and give these tracks a listen down below.
