Joey Rumble has been having a good year. With multiple Lowly Palace releases under his belt and and a seemingly “anything goes” mindset, he is able to stitch together an ungodly amount of influences together within a single, all containing a certain squeaky clean sound paired with a future house / bass house core that is his current mode of expression at the moment.
In “Battle Royale,” Rumble goes in a rougher direction, taking a grittier vibe and hard-slapping sound and gelling it right into a familiar bass and rhythm backdrop. The single still flows and plays like a JR tune – the balance of fresh and familiar nailing a pleasing sweet spot.
