North London’s most revered electronic club is welcoming techno’s finest Jon Hopkins for the first time in its history, which is another cause for celebration for Fabric this year. Known for his capability to merge, mix and switch between IDM and ambient, Jon Hopkins’ genre-bending tracks will set Room One on fire this Friday 7th April. His rise to fame after showcasing his blending arrangement capabilities saw him working with the like of Coldplay, Massive Attack and Brian Eno, where he drew from his experience creating acid house and drum & bass music.
Joining Jon Hopkins in Room One is Kangding Ray, ready to present his newest collection HYPER OPAL MANTIS released at the end of last month to London’s techno fans. As a precursor to the more ambient and softer sound of Hopkins, Kangding Ray will provide a parallel sounds that consists of harder sounds and increased danceable distortion. Room Two features jungle inspired duo made up of Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty, techno flagbearers from Manchester, UK that are the true experimenters of the genre, but their most recent EP Wonderland takes on a more minimalist twist.
