If you want to know a thing or two about techno, then you need know the name Julia Govor.
This badass, Brooklyn-based DJ began her career as a singer in a Russian military band, before shifting her talents to the underground music scene in Moscow, and eventually storming her way over to New York City in 2013. Following an explosive performance with Jeff Mills, she quickly made a name for herself in the genre, with some crowning her as the heir of new age techno. Since then, she’s played some of the most prominent festivals in the world, like Time Warp and Awakenings, and has even graced the decks at heavy-hitters like Electric Zoo, BPM Festival, and Electric Daisy Carnival.
Julia Govor begins yet another year with a bang by premiering her latest track “5000 Moments.” It stands as the title mix for her upcoming EP, due out soon on Budapest label Akkult. The track delivers a deep and compelling tune backed by acid undertones that will easily dizzy up your senses. Those who love the feel and sweet sound of a good old record should rejoice— 5000 Moments is set to be released exclusively on vinyl.
