The beared, crazy-haired Jay is back, bringing a fresh fusion of mysteria with Cash Money. It’s not easy easy getting the attention of Dirtybird with the amount of submissions, but back in 2011, Justin Jay was selected, and the rest is musical funkiness.
If you’re new to Justin Jay, the first thing that you should expect is, nothing. No matter how many times we have listened to his tracks, you’ll always have a hidden synth, a funky twist, or a sample that you’re scratching your head at, as you’re shakin it on the dancefloor. The title track quietly rises with with a man paranoid about how “she wants the money, cash money” which I think we could all relate to at one point in lives. With a dash of disco and full serving of funk, you’ll be repeating the lyrics in no time. For the second track, Justin takes “Cash Money” and flips it upside down, stripping out the funk, and inserting a twisted haunted house of tech and eerie synths that may not have you running for the hills, but 2/3 through the track will ignite your legs.
