Justin Jay Gets Personal in Forthcoming Album “Home,” and Announces 16-Date Tour

Justin Jay is one of those rare few who produces music that you can’t help but fall in love with. His easy-go-lucky tunes and persona made way for his debut album Fantastic Voyage to be incredibly successful, eventually manifesting itself into his own label, and releasing  music on the industry’s top-notch labels, like Dirtybird and Hot Creations.  Since then, we’ve been given licks here and there of his new work, like “Can’t Hang,” “Stuck Inside My Head,” and “Time.” Now, this California DJ and producer has announced his forthcoming full length album Home, along with 16 tour dates across the US following the release party.

While many of us adore Justin Jay for his easy-going, funkalicous music, we’ve recently learned that his journey was seemingly anything but.  Following the triumphant success of Fantastic Voyage, Justin Jay has said he was left with nothing but anxiety and stress, and no other option but to close off and regroup.  During this time, he began writing and playing the piano again, and realized “the Fantastic Voyage album was more a point of departure than arrival. Instrumentation was a far cry from composing on a computer screen…” And this is what lead Justin Jay to create his latest works, recorded on his iPhone in a lo-fi manner, completely unpolished and raw, mirroring an expression of his feelings.

As much as isolation and self exploration defines the genesis of Home, collaboration plays a major role in this album. It seems to be the perfect medley of songs that are dynamic, deep, and meaningful, yet upbeat and easy to bump to on the dance floor. The album release party is set to take place on October 12 in LA. This will kick-off Justin Jay’s 16-date tour, where he’ll be hitting cities like New York, Denver, Austin, Chandler, San Francisco, and more.
