In arguably the most powerful track in Ophelia’s already-massive new compilation album, Juuku and REMNANT.exe unleash their first ever collaboration “Searching”. Seven Lions’ Ophelia Records has garnered a reputation of hosting exceptional electronic music and giving exposure to rising artists who deserve it. These two producers certainly qualify. Having similar styles, their symbiosis is as organic as it is captivating. “Searching” packs a punch but also has a broad and unique sound palette, with everything from chaotic, screeching synth basses to a staccato-lead string section.
Both artists’ styles are drenched in a sort of sonic futurism. Like peering into 2032, their discographies diverge from mainstream EDM in ways that have yet to gain much momentum or coverage. Hit shuffle and you’ll find crossbreeds of wave, trap, neotrance, dubstep, etc., and evidently forward-thinking dispositions, each in their own ways. Juuku’s creativity in particular goes beyond sound; he crafts his own visuals and digital landscapes for his music, making the project that much more immersive and impressive.
This Ophilia feature will no doubt give Juuku and REMNANT.exe a solid boost in numbers. They may be playing mainstages before you know it, so stay tuned.
