Kai Wachi has debuted his twelve track LP, DEMIGOD, on Kannibalen Records, showing off his growth within the bass scene. Fans got a taste of some of his earth-shattering vibrations at the Stereo Bloom stage at EDC Las Vegas this year as well as at Global Dub Festival. The Boise native has been making his way into the spotlight since 2016, with tracks like “Ri$e”, “DEMONS”, and the $kull Team EP garnering support from the biggest tastemakers in the game like Excision and Bassnectar. Soon he was on support for Black Tiger Sex Machine’s “Music Is Our Religion” tour in 2017 and he quickly populated any basshead’s playlist.
Last year, Kai Wachi found incredible streaming success with his release on HARD Summer’s record label with his single, “Bodied,” as well as teaming up with bass scene legend Herobust on “WTF” and with YOOKiE on “FU.” Following all of this progression, the rising producer took out the time to carve out his loaded LP project, DEMIGOD.
The range from his sea-splitting bass to the emotive treatment to his melodic work, DEMIGOD offers something for everyone. Looking from where he started to now, his spectrum has reached incredible new heights in his production style. Kai Wachi kicks off with the title track “Demigod,” telling us a story of where the entity came from before dredging up the gutteral nastiness of that bass, something headbangers won’t be able to get enough of. Other tracks that stand out are his collab with Grabbitz, “Strangers,” giving us those trap vibes while showing another side to his harmony construction. One of our favorites that is all heavy metal badassery is “Between the Lines.” Featuring Sullivan King shredding the guitar and vocals, we felt our heads slowly whipping into a windmill.
DEMIGOD shows off the artist’s breadth of diversity within the arena of bass. The LP is now available to stream on Spotify and Soundcloud. Be sure to keep up with the Kannibalen artist through his socials below.
