Electronic music was very well represented at the Grammy Award show this year, with several noteworthy producers receiving nominations in various categories. Of course, it is no surprise that dance music veteran Ryan Raddon (aka Kaskade) was amongst these remarkable artists, having been nominated for both Best Dance/Electronica Album, and Best Dance Recording. Although he didn’t win in these categories, he did give an inspiring, and heartwarming red-carpet interview before the pre-telecast.
In the interview, he expresses humble gratitude for the nominations, as well as comments on how drastically dance music has changed from when he first started out nearly 20 years ago. Kaskade tells the interviewer that he is thrilled with how far dance music has come, and that he is truly happy that it has come out of the shadows and is now “front and center”. Many electronic music fans would agree with Kaskade’s statements, with the genre having skyrocketed into the limelight in the past couple of years, and the plethora of new events and experiences that have come along as a result.
