Kaskade Gets a Day Named After Him in Chicago

As one of the most acclaimed artists in all of dance music, Kaskade has numerous achievements under his belt that most people can only dream of. Although he’s had Grammy nominations, sold out arenas for tours, the largest crowd of any act in Coachella history, and much more — last week he may have attained his greatest accomplishment yet: having a day named after him.

Prior to his sold-out show for the Automatic tour in Chicago, Kaskade shared his gratitude by posting a status and a copy of the mayor’s letter on Facebook:

Anyone who knows my story knows that Chicago is straight truth for me. It shaped me. So excited to bring #AUTOMATIC here tonight. Thank you to Chicago Mayor’s OfficeRahm Emanuel for naming today #KaskadeDay in Chicago. This place is the birthplace of House music. Its impact on me is huge. Such an honor, so again – thank you CHICAGO!

There’s probably not too many cooler triumphs in life than having a day named after yourself in your hometown, especially in one of America’s hallmark cities like Chicago. To put it in perspective, other famous Chicago natives such as Jane Addams (Nobel Peace Prize), Stephen Colbert (entertainer), and Walt Disney (Disney Brand) do not have days named after them in Chicago.

Many congratulations to Kaskade, as this achievement marks his legacy and will be recognized by people far into future depths of time.
