Kaskade continues to support the EDM culture after the University of Massachusetts administration decided to ban all EDM events. On Friday, he went a tweet rampage calling out UMASS. He compared the deaths through molly overdoses to deaths from drunk drivers saying, “I’m fed up with the hypocrisy…there’s a lot wrong.”
Twitter followers admired and encouraged him to start his own blog because he is always speaking his mind and doing so rather intelligently: the mans got his facts straight and stays grounded in his opinions.
U of Mass has apparently banned all “EDM” events “forever”. Their reason…?

“The Molly-taking culture at these shows is real and now exceedingly dangerous to the health+safety of concert attendees.”
— Kaskade (@kaskade) September 27, 2013
But, WHAT IF we switched out a few words in that statement? For instance, “Molly” with “Alcohol”, and “These shows” with “The NFL”?

Then THIS “Fan falls, dies at Candlestick during 49ers-Packers game. Police found that alcohol had factored into that accident.”
— Kaskade (@kaskade) September 27, 2013
That’s a real story, one of thousands, involving alcohol, sports, + death. Why isn’t that the story that’s on fire?

I’m fed-up with the hypocrisy. OD’s are tragic. So are kids killed by drunk drivers. And all manner of violence. There’s a lot wrong.
— Kaskade (@kaskade) September 27, 2013
But to throw a blanket out and say “THIS is the problem! It’s scary and new!” is utter non-sense.

You guys, I don’t know the answer. I just know the WRONG ANSWERS when I see them. There are so many wrong answers right now.

I do know that we are a huge + powerful scene. We are who everyone wants to be. We are still growing. We have grown.
— Kaskade (@kaskade) September 27, 2013
But we’re being tasked with fixing problems that are global in scope + limitless in reach. Scapegoating at its most transparent.

Ironically enough, the university is hosting a Trinidad James concert, the rapper known for popularizing the phrase “Popped a Molly I’m Sweatin’.” What do you think about Kaskade’s statements?
