Having been an active part of the scene since 1995, electronic music veteran, Kaskade, has taken to posting his older material for everyone to enjoy via his YouTube channel. Yesterday, he uploaded the first five tracks of his album “The Calm”, which was released back in March of 2006. “The Calm” was Kaskade’s third full-length album, and was comprised of 12 original tracks, each of which clearly demonstrated his proficiency at creating deep, melodic productions. Greatly contrasting the slew of commercial-sounding tracks presently dominating the scene, these five classic tunes are quite refreshing to hear, and will undoubtedly bring on some bouts of nostalgia amongst dance music fans.
As one would expect from Kaskade, these tracks are nothing short of exceptional. Each radiates their own distinctive deep house vibe, complete with warm, sultry pads, a rich sub bass, and various engaging melodies voiced in diverse synth sounds. All but one of these tunes also blends in dulcet, euphonious vocals, adding a new layer of intensity to each song. Be sure to take a few minutes and revisit these throwback tunes below!
