It’s not often that dance music makes an appearance at award shows; but we’re starting to see a trend! The JUNO awards (essentially Canada’s Grammy awards) has released it’s nominees for the 2016 ceremony. The Dance Recording of the Year award is one that spotlights the best dance song of the year. Among the nominees are:
Dance Recording of the Year Nominees:
“At All” – Kaytranada
“Save Me” ft. Katy B – Keys N Krates
“Be Right There” – Sleepy Tom & Diplo
“Badman” (Torro Torro Remix) – Autoerotique & Max Styler
“We All Fall Down” ft. Jamie Lidell – A-Trak
This category is particularly unique for a few reasons, being that even Jack U’s “Where Are U Now” collaboration with Justin Bieber has not been nominated, and this is the first time since 2008 that deadmau5 hasn’t received a nomination.
Ready for some more Canadian tunes? The awards also spotlight the best Electronic Album of the Year, which will include the following nominees:
Electronic Album of the Year Nominees:
The Other Day – Pomo
Noontide – Humans
The Midas Touch – Discrete
Concubine – Concubine
A Life Well Lived – AM Static
