Every once and a while a band will take a new direction and it just works. Earlier today the live Canadian act Keys and Krates released a new single.
Keys N Krates fan base has long awaited a release from the group and their patience has been rewarded. “Glitter” featuring Ambré, is a new take on the sound that we usually hear from Keys N Krates. The new softer song takes a step away from the usual heavy dubstep into a more ethereal sound. Ambré’s glossy vocals over the new chill vibe that now personifies Keys and Krates.
The release of “Glitter” will lead up to the debut of the new album that will be released by Dim Mak Records titled Cura.
The group’s turntablist Jr. Flo was quoted as saying this about the concept of the new album, “we were trying to draw from music we love and grew up on like Jay Dilla, Tribe, DJ Premiere, as well as current stuff that we love like everything from Beach House to Chrome Sparks to a lot of current rap stuff. We wanted everything to sound like a sample.”
The group announced that we can expect the new album in early 2018 that will coincide with a huge North American tour that kicks off on January 24th and will run through the spring of 2018.
