Ever since hearing their Earmilk “On The Rocks” mix four months ago I have been all over Kicks N Licks releases. The San Diego based duo of Andy Joplin and Jerrod Jordan have a background in hip-hop that shines through in their lush productions. Recently they have been touring the U.S. making crowds bounce with their live shows and are booked to play their first festival Dancefestoptia in Kansas City this September.
“Morning Light” is the first single released off their upcoming “Momentum” EP that is generating a lot of excitement. They throw the gorgeous vocals of Emeline over a soothing symphony composed primarily of synths. Again the two have managed to surprise me with their creations, producing something that sounds unique from their previous songs. In a scene that sometimes lacks in creativity, Kicks N Licks gladly pick up the slack. Check it out below
