The boys from California have taken on the Princess of hip-hop Iggy Azalea with their latest remix “Work.” The duo seem to constantly dodge genre tags while creating bangers coated in bass. Given their background in hip-hop production, it comes as no surprise that they would choose the hottest girl in hip-hop at the moment.
Horns, synths, and of course bass all come together on the track to give us the unique flavor of KnL. They took this remix down trap road but managed to steer clear of the bland, boring trap that is so plentiful today. Their diversity in sound and genre is one thing that appeals to me in a big way. They can make a song like “Lost and Found” or their “Fade” remix then turn right around and make “Work.” It is a consistent surprise when I press play to a new song of theirs, and I always enjoy myself.
