Released on the fitting label Counter Records, Kidswaste has let the cat out of the bag with his anticipated EP he’s calling Color Of Your Heart. There’s so much joy backed into what is an 8-track journey. For starters, a sense of cohesiveness can be felt across the experience, there being a broadly similar vibe throughout that helps a theme be pronounced which is easy to connect with. This has a been a project 5 years in the making, probably making this release a weight of this solo electronic musician’s shoulders, but from the sound of it, the steps to completion was more than likely a labor of love. The songs are passionate, personal, and easy to return to.
Now 25 years old, Kidswaste’s gradual rise and continued success has not always been easy, but he’s persevered and stayed in the game for the long run.
This EP has all the hallmarks of being something that will stand the test of time, enjoy what he’s dished out in full below.
“Kiddy is not Kidswaste. It is only the mask that I wear,” Quentin says. “I wanted to explore the destructive relationship of an artist with their art, from creation to its downfall…I’ve always been really critical of my own craft and try to only put out my absolute best, and I worked really hard to up my production game for this EP. I think this is a more mature presentation of what I am able to do as an artist and songwriter.”
