We all know Kidz Bop. If you grew in the ’90s, its hard to forget those commercials with a chorus of 10 year-olds singing along to every top 40 hit. As if hearing these incredibly over-played singles on the radio wasn’t enough, Kidz Bop would take these songs and turn them into kid-friendly covers.
Fast-forward to 2013: Kidz Bop is still around. What? Yeah, crazy, but it seems the people behind this company are just still going at it, and even more unbelievably, somehow people are still buying these songs. My guess is its mostly elementary school gym teachers looking for something to play during class, but your guess is as good as mine.
With the advent of EDM slowly coverging towards “mainstream” audiences, leave it to Kidz Bop to capitalize on it. Below you’ll hear two Kidz Bop covers of some familiar EDM tracks. I’ll let you listen and enjoy the ridiculousness of this yourself.
Did they even do anything here? Just have a chorus of kids sing “Do the Harlem Shake”? Seriously?
I can respect this cover more, but hearing Kidz Bop try to cover Swedish House Mafia and John Martin is just too hilarious.
Prepare for an all-EDM Kidz Bop album. It’s coming.
