You might remember Kristy Lee Peters, KLP, from What So Not’s 2013 hit “Jaguar” or the voice from the Saturday night show House Party, formally ran by Nina Las Vegas, but this talented young woman is bringing more to the table than collaborations with other big industry names.
Today KLP has released her Ember EP featuring not only her own productions alongside co-writers and producers such as Julian Hamilton (The Presets), Andy Mak (Vera Blue), Thom Mack (Vera Blue), Nate Donmoyer (Passion Pit), Mereki (A-Trak, Sky Ferreira, Goldroom), Cassian (Rufus, Hayden James) and Sachi but her gorgeous voice as well. The EP boasts five upbeat and empowering tracks with relaxed melodies. KLP does a great job of including a multitude of sounds within from R&B/hip-hop-esque inspirations with “Ember,” co-produced with M-Phazes, to pop and dance floor vibes. This singer, producer, song-writer, DJ and Radio host has topped Hype Machine at #1 and proved that she’s definitely an artist to watch. With so many great talents coming out of Australia it’s no surprise this artist has quickly joined the ranks of many others.
Also released today along with the EP is the music video for “Ember.” It’s clear throughout the EP that Kristy’s goal is to make listeners dance and with the video created alongside “Ember” that’s exactly what it’s all about. Featuring her and a group of dancers moving to the track under darkness and flashing lights, KLP re-creates what we all imagine as we’re listening to this track.
