After opening with Jus Jack & Oza’s The Mess, Knife Party wasted no time delivering the heavy dance-dubstep tunes that they’re known for. However what made their mainstage performance one of the best all weekend was the constant mixing (36 tracks in all) that had the crowd grooving for one minute, before sending it into a frenzy the next. Check 2:00 to 2:30 as a quick reference.
Listening to through the set again, I find myself closing my eyes and briefly going back to moments from the weekend. So whether it was the people I was with, energy of the crowd, or that sick Moguai Fat Boy Slim Remix – Knife Party was one of the most memorable sets all weekend. They bring it on the mainstage, even if they say the same phrases over and over again :).
Notes: I’m referring to the phrases “New York (or Miami) we f*cking love you! / Do we have any dubstep crew in New York?”
