Koinu has proven to be a producer that can make just about any type of music. Whether it’s dubstep, trap, or house, Koinu can do it all. Real name Nick Kaelar, Koinu is the recently announced side project of his original project, “Varien”. As Nick describes it, “Varien is my Pendulum and Koinu is my Knife Party”. The announcement of Koinu came about five months ago, since then he’s released nearly five originals and a couple of remixes (while also still releasing music via Varien). Koinu mixes Japanese anime with electronic music to create an entirely new experience that differs from his Varien project.
In the past two months, Koinu has been delivering new music nonstop. We’ve seen some heaven trap, dubstep, funk, and house. Releasing five originals in just under two months while also contributing music under Varien. Only today Koinu officially released “Kuroneko” through Dim Mak records. The newest release is equipped with a keyboard to start the song off with and equally powerful drop that suits the house genre perfectly. With some well placed drums and funky vibe to go with it, this newest single fits the Dim Mak brand perfectly. If you haven’t heard Koinu’s new stuff, be sure to give it a listen if you’re craving some diversity in your musical taste. Looking forward to hearing more from Koinu in the future!
