Krewella’s eleventh installment of their always filthy Troll Mixes dropped Wednesday, April 9th, just in time for the world famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. With the release of Vol. 11 came a whirlwind of emotions for the faithful Krew- a bittersweet rush of pure happiness for a new fusion of dirty beats, right alongside the painful reminder that about one tenth of one percent of us actually snagged tickets to see them at Coachella.
This month’s hour-long chapter includes Krewella originals “We are One”, “Enjoy The Ride”, “Come and Get It”, and “Party Monster”, but this by no means is a playlist straight from their catalog. The hip-hop beats were banging with the catchy Jason Derulo and 2 Chainz’s “Talk Dirty” hook resonating through a good bit of the mix as well as “Love Sosa” by Chief Keef sneaking in a bit later into the hour. Of course it wouldn’t be a Troll Mix without a few EDM bangers. Filling that quota for Vol. 11 was the Zedd single the whole world is singing along to, “Stay The Night”, and also an almost unrecognizable “Get Low” by Dillon Francis and DJ Snake.
Krewella will be playing on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Sahara stage both weekends of Coachella (April 13th and April 20th), but if you’re like the rest of us and can’t make it to the festival, Troll Mix Vol. 11 should tide you over until they make their way to your town.
