With their latest single, “Sad People Dancing,” La Bouquet provides melancholic vibes in a surprisingly pop-sensible way. The band utilizes an array of evocative elements such as layered guitar riffs, 80’s-inspired rhythms, and atmospheric synths. The end result adequately corresponds with the title of the track, mirroring the lyrical narrative and bringing the entire work full-circle.
La Bouquet is an indie rock band comprised of Jake Lopez, Drew Bruchs, and Bryan Sammis (formerly of The Neighbourhood). Since their inception, the band has garnered increasing amounts of attention and applause for their moody, melody-oriented, post-punk sound.
