This past Saturday at Governors Island in NYC, Laidback Luke, Datsik, Tommy Trash, PeaceTreaty, and Oliver Twizt took the stage; creating an unforgettable night for many. The breathtaking view of the NYC skyline from the airy venue setup on Governors Island generates an unbelievably high-energy atmosphere, perfect for a show. Super You & Me, presented by Made Event, enforced a superhero dress code to coincide with the theme; so I was happy to see almost everybody dressed to par; from Spiderman, to Cat Women, to Captain America, there was creativity everywhere within the crowd. Laidback Luke was dressed in a winning superhero design from a fan based in Bulgaria, while Datsik repped a super sick Green Lantern ring and tee.

Oliver Twizt, PeaceTreaty, and Tommy Trash got the crowd ridiculously amped for Datsik and Luke with their bangin electro house sets, where some unforgettable remixes were dropped, including Goyte’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ and Tiesto & Hardwell’s Remix of ‘Young Blood’. And when Tommy Trash dropped his collab with Sebastian Ingrosso, ‘ID’, the crowd really went nuts. Just after sunset, Datsik began his set by asking fans where his bass heads were at; we knew he was going to deliver nothing but dirty bass. When Datsik dropped his filthy new remix of Dada Life’s ‘Kick Out The Epic Mother Fucker’, the crowd went wild. After a bass infused set by Datsik, the crowd was ready for Luke.
By the time Luke got on stage, the crowd’s energy had skyrocketed. Luke really threw down for NYC, and when he transitioned ‘Turn Up The Bass’ into ‘That’s The Way I Like It’ the whole crowd was singing along and ready for more. I’d have to say that the highlighted tracks in Luke’s set was when he dropped his remix of Wynter Gordon’s ‘Dirty Talk’ and a remixed ‘Save the World’ by Swedish House Mafia. The color changing laser light beams and geometric visual graphic designs on the screen behind the DJ booth also made for Super You & Me to be a memorable experience. I had so much fun meeting a ton of EDM fans from all over New York and New Jersey and I hope to see you all when Laidback Luke returns to NYC for Electric Zoo on August 31.
