Last Heroes are back to get in touch with a feeling many of us know all too well, that one lost connection. “Passing Through” is just another home run for the Colorado-based duo, where their inflection of melodic bass has caught the attention of many, but most importantly Ophelia Records. Their 2020 double-sided release, No Sleep//Naked Soul, and single releases with RUNN on, “Love Like Us”, and with Seven Lions and HALIENE on “Don’t Wanna Fall” have amassed hundreds of thousands of streams, all within just a few months.
Their latest single released on Ophelia, “Passing Through”, describes an experience that is incredibly relatable. Delving into the realms of indie pop, house, and dance, Last Heroes strings in these elements via gentle guitar strums, swirling melody, and Trove’s heartache vocals. They then bring back the energy with a plucky rhythm that pops amongst the ethereal clouds. A balance of smooth, bright assonance partnered with melancholic lyrics recreates that moment where we long to know what it would have been like if we didn’t listen to our own made up reasons to run away.
You can stream Last Heroes, “Passing Through”, out now on Spotify and Apple Music. Keep up with the duo below to stay on top of their upcoming music releases.
