Arguably one of the most notable trios in electronic dance music, Krewella, hit the ultimate dark spell of their career yesterday when news broke that founding member Kris Trindl filed a lawsuit against the Yousaf sisters for $5 million. The lawsuit was based around Krewella’s management team and the Yousaf sisters’ alleged effort to remove Trindl from the group.
Quickly fan reactions hit Facebook and Twitter as every blog under the sun picked up the story and began to speculate. Though, at the end of the day we still know nothing. Why? because we haven’t heard the whole story. As Yasmine and Jahan said in the opening of their Facebook statement titled “To our krew,” “We woke up this morning to the lawsuit Kris filed against us. As you all know, there are two sides to every story.”
Exactly, there are two sides to every story, so rather than blowing your top in frustration at a group that has given you sounds that you enjoy and conveyed a message that you believe in – relax. This is by no means the end of Krewella and when the time it right we’ll know the truth about this situation.
“To our krew:
We woke up this morning to the lawsuit Kris filed against us. As you all know, there are two sides to every story. We ask our fans to please be patient and not come to any conclusions until we are able to respond to the lawsuit with the truth. Our team has advised that we don’t get into any specifics until we can properly respond to the false claims made—most importantly being that we did not kick Kris out of Krewella, he resigned. We’re having a really difficult time today. As we write this letter to you, we are in the studio working on the second album. Please hang in there with us, the truth will eventually come out. Thank you for being so supportive, we love you guys.
Love, Y & J”
If you’re interested in Kris’ claims you can view the lawsuit below. However, as previously mentioned, the truth still remains unclear.
