Great news everyone! Ministry of Sound, the very esteemed club in the London, lives on. Recently, a developing housing project by the name of Eileen House threatened the club due to potential noise pollution. A large social media campaign launched to save the club, which regularly holds prolific acts such as Above and Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, and many more. Mayor Boris Johnson aided the effort to keep the club open by holding a public hearing detailing a plan to preserve the location and major DJs Armin, Calvin Harris, Pete Tong, and the singer Example aided the effort. Eileen House will now be equipped with the aim to protect residents from the booming bass and acoustics of the venue.
Lohan Presencer, The chief executive officer of Ministry of Sound, stated:
“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Englewood Ltd that safeguards our future while allowing new development in Southwark.”
In a time where other venues have succumbed to closures (most notably the Roseland Ballroom in New York City that is scheduled to close in April), it is refreshing to see a city band together to preserve an integral piece of its culture. Hopefully Ministry of Sound out lives us all and continues to amaze visitors with its historic pedigree.
