When you hear the phrase ‘The World’s Largest Paint Party,” only one thing comes to mind, Dayglow. But as of September 1st, the ‘World’s Largest Paint Party’ will acquire a new name, one that is equally fitting to the experience. After announcing and completing the ‘Life In Color Tour’, it was revealed yesterday that ‘Life In Color’ will be the official name change for Dayglow.
The festival takes place almost weekly across the U.S, providing attendees with an experience like none other. At a normal festival you would hear loud music and see an amazing light show while praising your favorite deejay(s). Since 2006 ‘Dayglow’ added an extra element that brings electronic dance music to the next level, paint. The euphoric feeling you get when you hear a record by your favorite DJ, topped with being smacked in the face by a colored substance can only be described as seeing ‘Life In Color’. The title ‘Dayglow,’ as a name and brand, can not wholly encompass the entire event experience, says Founder Paul Campbell.
“We always had the name-change idea on the agenda, but the time never seemed right. We felt we were bursting at the seams under the Dayglow moniker, so this change has worked out perfectly for all and we’re incredibly excited to take our “Life in Color” events to a truly epic next level.”

Thankfully electric dance music fans have nothing to worry about, only the name will be changing. The high energy, production, and sound value that ‘Dayglow’ was previously known for will remain the same. You can still expect top tier DJ talent to headline.
Since the festival is now moving in to the European market, the name ‘Life In Color’ will more accurately describe and identify the brand. The name change comes just weeks after Robert F.X Sillerman purchased the festival, though founder Sebastian Solano says the two events are unrelated.
“Dayglow was a bit generic and has been used for many things not related to us over the years, so it confused fans. We wanted a name that really captured our vibrant spirit and was less ambiguous at the end of the day. ‘Life in Color’ is the culmination of many years of dedication and work to make these events second to none, and although we’re sad to say goodbye to our old friend Dayglow, we know that the sky is the limit now for ‘Life in Color’.”

Changes like this are a reminder that the electronic music industry is a business requiring innovation. As the consumer base expands, key players must keep their offerings fresh and appealing. After all, no one wants to live ‘Life in Black and White.’
